Ok, so the thing worked.

The details of the trip are as follows. My company bought another company. They need someone to help integrate the new business. (especially in Thailand where we already have a company...and the one we are buying is two blocks away from our existing factory...so we need to combine the two.) I'm basically one of two guys "on the ground" doing the stuff that needs done. I am the financial guy...and we are going to be joined by another operations/engineering guy. He has a wife and 2 kids (3 year old and 1 year old boys). We will live in a service apartment; a sort of large hotel room. Marie will attend a pre-school. We will probably have a driver. That is about all I know as far as "the plan". They are also doing lots of nice little things to "make us whole"...

We also get an extra living stipend. So instead of reimbursing us for meals and such, they just give us a monthly chunk of extra money to spend on food and entertainment. Given the structure of this payment, I will be certainly be suggesting Sarah steal bread from the continental breakfast and use that as lunch....
