Some funny things Sarah forgot in her first blog entry...
1) On the first day, as Sarah evaluated our living quarters, her one big complaint was that the kitchen (which has an oven, stove, fridge, washer/dryer in-one unit that requred a member of the housekeeping staff to show us how to operate) she noticed that there was, unfortunately, no dishwasher. With the dining room fully stocked with nice flatware (like the stuff we got for our wedding and keep in the box...) it seemed crazy to have to revert to hand-washing dishes. Regardless, I bought dish detergent to prepare us (her) for a life of washing dishes without a dishwasher....
Then after the first night and day away, we return to find that the maid actually washes the dishes for us. (and we feel a mix of relief and guilt...)
2) On one of the long van rides on our weekend getaway, (approx 2 hours from Bangkok, in a town called Pattaya) we saw a guy riding an elephant along the side of the road. This was not the transportation of a zoo or circus. Just normal activity.
3) Marie randomly declares that she is going to name Ben (our unborn baby)...Nick. No one around us is named Nick. We have no idea why she decided this.
